Shiny Alert! Little Damn Heroes Mal Statue!

Little Damn Mal!

I aim to misbehave.' With these words, Malcolm Reynolds, captain of the Firefly-class transport Serenity, let loose upon the Alliance the kind of retribution only a man with nothing left to lose can exact. And now the Mal, the man of action, is captured in this limited edition, hand-painted animated maquette, designed by well-known artist Adam Levermore-Rich, creator of the Blue Sun Travel Posters and the best-selling Battlestar Galactica Propaganda Posters. The 4 1/2" resin statue shows Mal ready for action, his gun drawn and browncoat billowing behind him as though he's just taken a bead on some Purple Belly who's earned his righteous ire. Details in the maquette include screen-accurate sculpts of his boots, suspenders, even his pistol. Only 1,000 limited-edition 'Aim to Misbehave' maquettes will be made, after which this design will be retired forever. Best get yours before they're gone for good! Painted and ready to display.

Joss talks Dollhouse

Straight from whedonesque.com

What happened when the lights went out. Sadly, this is not a naughty
post. It’s just Joss nattering on again.

I thought it was time to check in with you once again, gentle
viewers. Or readers. Or pictures-looker-ats (that might be viewers).
Also listeners, sniffers, haberdashers, Olympic hopefuls, the
elderly, the youngerdly, and the mighty state of Oregon (go Oregon-
based sports franchise!) Welcome all. Welcome... to me.

What’s me up to? I’m glad me asked. Me’ve (I’m not doing that any
more) been working on a little show called Dollhouse. Yes, perhaps
you’ve read about how it’s blazing an untrammeled path to surefire
success, with nary a hitch or a hiccup, just pure blazing blazery,
comet-like and meteoresque. What’s that, you say? You’ve read other
things? Dark, Yog-Sothothy rumors about shutdowns and delays?
Poppycock! They’re true. But I never pass up a chance to say
"poppycock". ("Balderdash" is so ’07. Let it go.) I know there’s been
a lot of concern, various fabulous hues of panic alert readiness. So
here’s the skinny. Some of the names have been changed.

The show was ruined by Flim Flinear. Okay, that’s another lie, and
you’re probably close to giving up on this blog, so here we go. Yes,
we’ve had to make adjustments. Yes, it’s been hard and I’ve been
depressing to be around for awhile. Basically, the Network and I had
different ideas about what the tone of the show would be. They bought
something somewhat different than what I was selling them, which is
not that uncommon in this business. Their desires were not
surprising: up the stakes, make the episodes more stand-alone, stop
talking about relationships and cut to the chase. Oh, and add a
chase. That you can cut to. Nothing I hadn’t heard before on my other
shows (apparently my learning curve has no bendy part) but
frustrating as hell given our circumstances - a pilot shot, scripts
written, everybody marching together/gainfully employed... and then a
shutdown. Glad I was for the breathing room, but it’s hardly
auspicious. So back into the writer cave I went, wondering why I put
up with this when I can make literally dozens of dollars making
internet movies. Why I do put up with this is divided into three parts.

One: They’re not wrong. Oh, we don’t see eye-to-eye on everything,
but wanting the first episodes to be exciting and accessible is not
exactly Satanic. Being Satan is, but that’s in their free time and
hey, there’s no judging in the Dollhouse. This kind of back and forth
has happened on every show I’ve done, so if you liked those, chances
are that was a part of why. And the need to focus on the essentials
of what makes this universe tick - and which wire to cut to make it
stop - really does bring up our game. So we as a staff have gone from
blinking like unhoused moles to delving in with the same relish we
had when we started. The show is really coming together now, in a way
that I believe excites us and satisfies the Network. Of course, I
have no idea if anybody else will like it, but I have the same faith
in the staff, the crew and the remarkable cast that I always did.
More, in fact. And what’s more crucial:

Two: Nothing essential has changed about the universe. The ideas and
relationships that intrigued me from the start are all there (though
some have shifted, more on that), and the progression of the first
thirteen eps has me massively excited. The episode we’re shooting now
I wrote as fast as anything I have before, not because I had to
(although, funny side-note: I had to) but because I couldn’t stop the
words from coming. Because I can feel the show talking to me;
delighting, scaring and occasionally even offending me. It’s alive.
Alive! Which is a far cry from how I felt a month ago. It’s been
hilarious trying to keep up with what’s in, what’s out, who’s met
whom and when - we’ve shot all of the first seven episodes out of
airing order - but it’s come together in a pretty thrilling way. My
huge gratitude to our cast for their precision and patience. Which
also includes...

Three: Eliza. Watching her on the monitors at two o’clock this
morning I was reminded forcibly how much I wished I were in bed – but
also how strong, radiant and unmistakable her presence is. She’s
someone who could coast on talent and never ever does. I love to
watch her work. In fact, I think I got myself into this mess for that
very reason, and though I have this fall occasionally sworn never to
eat lunch with an actor I like again, I’m pretty pleased and crazy
proud.

So here’s me, slogging away on a show like days of old and not hating
life. Again, you guys will be the judge, jury and execu... lawyer,
but we do have something to show you. Something, I’m chuffed to say,
still pretty damn strange.

As for what’s been changed, well, some things I obviously can’t tell
you. Some I can, for the record: The original pilot was in fact
thrown out. Again, at my behest. Once it became clear what paradigm
the Network was shooting for, it just didn’t fit at all, even after
I’d reshot more than half of it (see above re: despair). To get a
sense of how completely turned around I was during this process, you
should know there was a scene with Eliza and the astonishing Ashley
Johnson that I wrote and shot completely differently three different
times, with different characters in different places (actually I
wrote it closer to eight times), and none of it will ever see air.
Which is as it should be (though I’m determined to get Ms. Johnson
back in the future). The scene just didn’t belong anymore. Similarly,
the character of November has fallen out of the mix, because the show
simply moves too fast now for me to do what I wanted with her. Season
three, anyone...? Happily, Miracle Laurie is still with us in a new
role, playing against (and pining for) Tahmoh’s character, Paul
Ballard. Their chemistry is deeply nifty. The only other major cast
shift is that the Dollhouse head of security, Laurence Dominic
(played by Reed Diamond), who was written just for the now-defunct
first ep, has stuck like fly-paper, and Reed is very much in the
family for the present. (Most of my problems seem to involve my
actors making themselves indispensable. This is the good problem kind.)

Apart from that, it’s all hush-hush: some things I’d intended to hold
back are laid out much sooner, and some are rolling out more slowly.
We’re still heading toward Tim’s intense two-part mind-blower - right
before a thirteenth ep that may actually just be insane.

And finally, young Steve DeKnight, after writing and shooting an ep
so cool it helped not only define the show but save its ass, is
ending his consulting duties, the f#%&er. I will be crying on the
shoulder of Jane Espenson come Monday, so congratudolences are in
order. Excited for the Jane Flava.

And there you have it. I’ll be writing more bulletins about "Cabin"
and a certain DVD in the very near future, but I wanted to get you
all some actual information for a change. I can count on you guys not
to tell anyone, right? What’s a blog?

Faithfully, -joss.

My mini Spike doll....

Weee! Remember when i talked about that pricey resin ball jointed doll I had made of James Marsters...well it arrived today! And 'tis awesome! It still needs it's face-up (the paintjob), eyes, wig, and clothes. I have a body for him too but the picture turned out all blurry. If anyone is interested in getting one, head over to Den of Angels for more info. There is currently a thread dedicated to getting a group order for a Buffy, Willow, Vamp Willow, Vamp Spike, and even an Angel down the line.

Warning...these dolls ain't cheap! A head goes for around $100 and to get a body would be at least another $200...not to mention the eyes, wigs, and clothes can cost a ton. But they are very expressive, unique, photograph like a dream, and usually have an excellent resale value. And I have something that only 10-20 other people in the world have...so there ya go. I am also getting the buffy head too...Spike needs his girl.

Shiny Alert: Little Damn Hereos Kaylie Statue

sooo cute.
Shiny! The word epitomizes Serenity's unsinkable engineer, Kaywinnit Lee Frye, or as she's known to her friends, Kaylee. And now for the first time, Kaylee's shining spirit is captured in this limited edition, hand-painted animation maquette, designed by well-known artist Adam Levermore-Rich, creator of the best-selling Serenity: Blue Sun Travel Posters. The stylized statue brings together Kaylee's two seemingly contradictory aspects - savant engineer and girly girl - perfectly.

Smiling beatifically, the 4 1/2 inch Kaylee Maquette is sculpted wearing her mechanic's coveralls (complete with teddy bear patch) and holding her trademark rainbow parasol, standing in her work boots on a black resin base. Limited to 1,500 pieces, this maquette will be a unique collectible that deserves a place in every Browncoat's collection. Painted and ready to display.

Buffy MMORPG!@!!@@!@^%@!

TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX LICENSING & MERCHANDISING AND MULTIVERSE ANNOUNCE "BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER" VIRTUAL WORLD

Revolutionary Massively Multiplayer Online Game First Ever to be Available as Both Fully Immersive 3D Environment and Flash-Based 2D Game

CENTURY CITY, CA (September 3, 2008) - Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising and The Multiverse Network, Inc., a leading provider of virtual world development technology for Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMOGs), educational and social worlds, and business collaboration environments, today announced the development of an original "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" MMOG. The virtual world will be based on the mythology and iconography made popular by the Emmy® Award-winning series. The announcement was made by Academy Award® winning producer and member of the Multiverse Advisory Board, Jon Landau, during his keynote speech today at the Virtual Worlds Conference and Expo.

The ground-breaking MMOG will offer a new experience for gamers, allowing them to play it either as a fully immersive 3D environment or as a Flash-based 2D game, where both types of players can interact. The game will be launched within "Multiverse Places," a new social virtual world from Multiverse. Currently under development, "Buffy" will go into "beta" testing later this year.

Landau, a Multiverse Advisory Board member, who is in production on Avatar—the widely anticipated Fox film from fellow Multiverse Advisor James Cameron—commented, "Multiverse has the vision and expertise to create the type of rich environment needed for the best possible game based on the 'Buffy' series. The resources are in place to develop a great MMOG."

Created by sci-fi and comic book legend, Joss Whedon, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" racked up critical and popular acclaim during its seven seasons on television. The series also inspired a line of top-selling comic books and successful merchandising lines with an avid fan base at retail. Fox Licensing & Merchandising (Fox L & M) continues to develop the brand for a number of targeted programs that reach its core market.

"Every once in a while a show comes along that lives long after its run on television, and ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ is that kind of show," commented Elie Dekel, Executive Vice President Licensing and Merchandising for Fox L&M. "We think that creating this virtual Buffy world is the perfect extension of the brand and will attract both fans of the show and newcomers interested in a great experience online."

"As a brilliant storyteller and world-maker, Joss Whedon crafts stories that expand perfectly into the new medium of virtual worlds," said Corey Bridges, co-founder and Executive Producer, Multiverse. "Not to give away too much, but when the 'Buffy' team finished the television series, they created the perfect launching point for an MMOG where everyone will feel like they're an important character in the ongoing story."

In related news, Fox's plans for the development of the previously announced Firefly MMOG have been delayed, but Fox looks forward to continuing its collaboration with Multiverse on this endeavor.

Since Multiverse's launch over four years ago, more than 25,000 development teams—ranging from garage developers to Fortune 100 companies to Hollywood legends—have registered to use the company's platform technology. In addition, several hundred pre-qualified customers have already begun building MMOGs and non-game virtual worlds with the Multiverse Platform.

ABOUT TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX LICENSING & MERCHANDISING
A recognized industry leader, Twentieth Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising licenses and markets properties worldwide on behalf of Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, Twentieth Television and Fox Broadcasting Company, as well as third party lines. Wildclaw Deathscribe: 10 Minutes of Terror!

WildClaw Theatre's 1st Annual Deathscribe:
Ten Minutes of Terror Radio Play Festival,
At The Music Box Theater, Monday October 6th.

Chicago, IL—August 22nd, 2008—WildClaw Theatre Company proudly announces the 1st annual Deathscribe, Ten Minutes of Terror Radio Play Festival, on Monday October 6th, at 8:00pm presented at the historic Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Ave, Chicago. Admission to this evening of horrific entertainment will be $20.

This evening of 5 original horror radio dramas, directed and acted by a collection of renowned Chicago theatre artists will be the first event of WildClaw Theatre's thrilling 2nd season. There will be a "Best of the Fest" award, with the winner chosen by a celebrity panel of judges on the night of the performance, and the entire evening will be recorded for a future WildClaw Blood Radio Podcast.

"The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown." – H.P. Lovecraft.

In this new millennium, the information age, this era of instant communication, it is more difficult than ever to truly frighten an audience. Everyone knows so much. Therefore, time and again, graphic violence and shock become easy substitutes for that unique, spine tingling dread that truly captivates an audience. Disgust and revulsion are easier than suspense, intrigue, and terror. It is our mission with WildClaw Theatre to engage our audience by appealing to their imagination, taking them on strange journeys of dread, suspense, terror and wonder. In other words, Horror Theatre. Deathscribe continues that pursuit of intelligent, imaginative horror storytelling. After the success of our inaugural production, Arthur Machen's The Great God Pan, we continue exploring the history and evolution of the horror genre through a performance of live horror radio plays. Horror radio gave millions of radio listeners their weekly fix of terror from the 1930's through the 1960's, until television finally pushed it out of the picture. Horror radio directly engages the imagination of the audience, using only deft storytelling to arouse fear and terror in the collective mind of the listener.

Deathscribe, Ten Minutes of Terror Radio Play Festival will consist of five original ten minute horror radio dramas, with live foley sound and a live band for accompaniment. Admission for this evening of horrific entertainment will be $20.This guarantees to be a unique and thrilling evening of horrific entertainment, as well as a grand kickoff to WildClaw Theatre's thrilling second season, which includes H.P. Lovecraft's "The Dreams in the Witch House" directed and adapted by Charley Sherman, and Scott T. Barsotti's "The Revenants", directed by Anne Adams. In addition to being a viable and active online community, both Scott Allie of Dark Horse Comics, as well as Brian Lynch from IDW Comics are regular visitors and posters on the forum. So if you want to hear comics news straight from the source and share in your love for Buffy and Angel and all things Whedon...please check out the Slayalive forums!

Season Two of Buffy Between the Lines!

FYI...Season Two has started. Listen to it. Everyone is doing it. It's the coolest.

A Taste of Animated Buffy

Thanks again to Kassi...

Sigh this would have been sooo awesome. I guess we can live in hope that Cartoon Network could still bite?

And here's an animatic version of the intro.

Huzzah New Buffy DS Game!

huge thanks to Kassi for letting me know...I am very excited. I adore my little pink nintendo ds and will be super pleased to have a Buffy game for it!

Here's the skinny:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Sacrifice combines third-person and first-person gameplay to create an all-new experience in the Buffyverse. The stakes are high for players as they take on the role of Buffy to seal the re-opened Hellmouth in an original story penned by Rob Deshotel, a writer from the TV series.

This action-packed 3D survival horror game sees Buffy using a range of special weapons, powerful spells and martial arts to take out vicious vampires and demons. In addition to these enemies, players also come across recognizable characters from the show, including Spike, Angel, the Master, the First Evil, Caleb and, of course, the Scooby Gang.

It will be an Angel-rific Slayathon this year and I for one am very excited about that idea!

I am still alive..podcast coming...

I know you are all sick of my lies on the subject...but contrary to popular belief, I am still alive and there is a podcast coming. I have had one recorded for eons...but at this point it's probably better to just re-record the thing and have done with it. I will probably throw up a sloppy unedited version this weekend. While at the Comic Con...which was awesome...I got really sick and lost my voice, which I only just got back yesterday...so my plan is to get some cheap wine...drink it...then record a podcast for ya all about Destiny, The Twlight Saga, and the song "Wild Horses" from Buffy "the Prom"...so if you have any last words on the subject, speak now.

In the meantime, the last of the Twilight novels has come out and I am steadily reading it. There is also a press and promo blitz for the upcoming Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire novels tv show on HBO called Bad Blood...I am sooooo looking forward to this. For on this and other vampire fiction laters....

And now.....me and a wookie.

Buffy Tarot up for Preorder!

Lost hundreds of years ago, the Slayer's tarot is an important artifact from Slayer history that came into existence after a group of women shared a vision of a rogue Slayer who would love a vampire and who would be aided in her fight against evil by a group of mystical allies. The heretical prophecy led to the suppression of the deck by the Watcher's Council.

Written and conceived by Rachel Pollack, author of twelve books on the tarot, including the renowned 78 Degrees of Wisdom, she teams with long-time Buffy artist Paul Lee to create this one-of-a-kind tarot card set.

This is a 78-card deck with instruction pamphlet, 88-page softcover book, in reclosable box with magnetic closure

Scheduled to ship in mid-august! SRP $15.99

Joyce Summers...Mom for all Seasons....

With Mother's Day approaching...I thought we should take a second to give a little shout out to Buffy's mom, Joyce Summers...played by the lovely Christine Sutherland.

So here are my favorite Joyce moments:
1. School Hard- Axe wielding mama!
2. Lover's Walk- Marshmellows and hot cocoa with Spike
3. Buffy Vs Dracula- Letting in Dracula...
4. Band Candy- Very Juice Newton
5. Restless- Coming onto Xander...

So what's your favorite Joyce memory? Does your mother watch Buffy?

A little old-school vamp makeup for you....

I am doing the costumes for Collaboraction's Sketchbook '08, a short-play festival opening May 15th at the Steppenwolf Garage and running to June 16th. Here is a fun production still from a video shoot we did on wednesday night. These are two characters from a black and white "Nosferatu" style film. I did the costumes and the makeup. I used both the original Nosferatu and Angel's Prince of Lies for inspiration! Enjoy!

Go See Ironman...and Free Comic Book Day!

First of all...Ironman was AWESOME! I so loved this film and it was a great way to kick off the summer geeky movie-a-thon. Yee haw. Robert Downey Jr. was brilliant. The entire cast was perfect and the whole film just came together in such a marvelous way. I smiled the whole time. Be sure to stay for an extra scene after the credits that was a super sweet bonus.

And it's also that most wonderful time of the year, Free Comic Book Day! Find your local store and pick up a few books for free while taking advantage of the awesome sales and deals in your local store. I walked away with a bedazzled superman shirt and a wonder woman shirt plus lots-o-comic-crack.

It's a good day to be a geek!

My Buffy Between the Lines Episode is up!

Weeee....Listen to my episode! I just listened and I think it turned out really well. Note that I totally cribbed a line from Sam Shepard...I doubt he will notice. Also, everyone should read the beautiful play, The Dybukk, which was also a point of inspiration. Also..there's a dash of Fiddler on the Roof just for fun.

Dollhouse Casting has occured....

Wee...we have some casting news. Head to Dollverse for more info!

First off...the super hot Tahmoh Penikett (Helo from BSG & Wes Keenan from Smallville) is playing Paul Smith. Fran Kranz (a dude) is playing Topher Brink, Dichen Lachman is Sierra, and Enver Gjokaj is Victor. Awesome news...I love Tahmoh and we know Joss is a huge Battlestar fan so this makes perfect sense. I have heard people grousing about how these folks are relative unknowns. So was most of Buffy and almost all of Firefly's cast...and look how that turned out. Remember...In Joss, We Trust yall... do not question his genius...or question but wait and see how it turns out. My only gripe is the hard time I am going to have pronouncing these peoples names for a podcast. Ugh.

Nothing to do this Weekend?- See THEATRE!!!

I have got three options for you: Strawdog's Richard III, Wildclaw's Great God Pan, and Teatro Vista's Dreamlandia. Richard and Pan are closing this weekend...so get it while the gettin's good. Dreamlandia opens on Monday.

But Aly, what does theatre have to do with Buffy?

Well my friends...not a whole lot. But theatre is a vital branch of the arts and the experience of sitting in a theatre while actors breathe life into characters, while music and lights transform the mood in an instant, while a simple change of a hat can create a whole new character...well that is magic. Something everyone should experience. So check these shows out...

Buffy Reunion at Paley Center News

First of all, I hate everyone of you who got to go.

Since that's out of the way, here's the skinny:

Michelle Trachtenberg will be joining the cast of CW's Gossip Girl (I will still not be watching though...)

Seems unlikely that there will be another Buffy project unless lots of stars align.

Sarah Michelle was surprised by Buffy's trip to the L Word in comics.

Amber Benson and I have the same haircut!

Joss would love to take Buffy to Broadway.

Oz will be showing up in Season Eight Comics (weeeeeeee!).

Go here to read a nice summary.

Spike: After the Fall Comic Series

IDW will release a new comic miniseries, Spike:After the Fall, beginning in July. Brian Lynch and Franco Urru, the creative team on Angel: After the Fall . will handle the creative chores on the new four-issue miniseries.

The story for the new miniseries will flow out of "First Night," an upcoming story arc in issues #6 through #8 of Angel: After the Fall.

The Spike: After the Fall storyline will take Spike from the events in "First Night" and explore his changing relationship with Illyria in the new city. It will answer many questions, including how Spike ended up taking over a certain mansion in Westwood.

Buffy Mini-Scythe for Pre-Order

Woot! Finally some new Buffy swag. I am sooooo getting this.

Now, Factory X adds the miniature version of the Slayer's Scythe from the highly popular Buffy the Vampire Slayer prop replica series. The Miniature Slayer's Scythe was created referencing the full 1:1 version produced by Factory X. The original Factory X 1:1 Scythe was crafted by using Joss Whedon's personal souvenir prop scythe as reference. The collectible miniature Slayer's Scythe is 10.5 inches long and weighs less then 1 pound, making this Slayer's Scythe a must have for every office desk and serious collector of Buffy prop replicas. This handsome piece makes a great letter opener or simply protection for those that hunt the night. Retails for $22.95 and scheduled to ship in June!

On sale for $19.99 from Time and Space Toys and use the FREESHIPPING Code and put at least one in stock item in your basket and you get it shipped free. Nice!

Buffy Between the Lines Wins Best Audio Drama Award!

A New Episode...just not for this show...

Okay this is the weekend for podcasting...I got the first one done, but its for my new podcast, WildClaw Blood Radio! Its a podcast about horror, horror theatre, and Wildclaw Theatre Company. In the first episode we chat about the origins of horror theatre, why we like to be scared, and our very first production, The Great God Pan. Check it out to see what we are all about...and to see why I have been so bloody busy lately and unable to get you a proper buffy podcast.

But fear not...I went to the comic store yesterday and picked up all my languishing books. So there will be a comics roundup coming to you shortly! And I think I have finally figured out the interview thing...so some of those will be coming soon.

Te he...Dirty Supernatural, Smallville, & Dollhouse

So I thought I would share this...gave me a chuckle this morning. So I have a system set so I can track what brings people to my blog, i.e. google searches for "buffy podcast" etc... So someone stumbled upon my humble podcast/blog by typing "Jenson Ackles Strip Club"....very intriguing. If anyone knows where I might find Jenson Ackles stripping...I will be there in a heartbeat.

And in more important news: Supernatural got the greenlight for another season. Yee frelling ha! Smallville is coming back for its eighth season as well! I would not be surprised to see more of James Marsters as Brainiac next season since Michael Rosenbaum (Lex) is not committing to a full season next year.

And hopefully we will start hearing more about Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku's Dollhouse show! Some rightfully untrusting fans have already started a petition to save the show before it has even aired... I stumbled on a nice Dollhouse website called Dollverse. It has a complete listing of the character descriptions and lots of other new info.

Need more Corey in your life? Lost Boys: The Tribe

Well we all knew it would happen. Just when you thought the onslaught of bad gothy vampire/werewolf films was coming to an end...the powers that be dig deep to the root of it all: The Lost Boys. So here we have a trailer for the newest version of young teens lured into a shady, sweaty, probably smelly vampire lifestyle because a hot blonde dude told you to drink something. Hey, we've all been there right? According to the trailer, we will be treated to the motorcycles, bloody beach campfires, and goth metal soundtrack we came to know and love from the original...and even some appropriately 80's metal big hairstyles if we are super lucky. But the coup de grâce is seeing Corey Feldman reprise his role as Edgar Frog. I don't know where you fell in the heated Corey vs Corey saga that was the 80s...but Mr. Haim left me cold...Viva la Feldman! Though his weird Michael Jackson love is still UBER creepy to this day. Both the original Lost Boys and this newer version seem like perfect Designer Imposter candidates, don't you think?

Gift From Me...Buffy Paper Dolls

I drew these last year I think? Its a Dress Me Up Buffy and all of her most memorable fashions. I plan on doing a bunch of these and have started on Willow as well. If I find someone selling these...I WILL hunt you down and stake you. But feel free to print them out and have fun coloring them for your own personal use. I have been working on coloring them in photoshop...but I am not done yet. Then I plan to make magnetic versions for my fridge!

Still nothing on tv? Rent Night of the Comet!

Night of the Comet
This has got to be one of my favorite films from childhood. I am no doubt a product of the 80's. My Incredible Hulk doll was best friends with my Donny Osmond doll (why you ask...they both loved purple...and Hulk was a little bit country). I still think leg warmers are the COOLEST and I am a maniac, MANIAC on the floor! When Night of the Comet made its way to cable tv, I was the tender age of 10 and this movie was like totally rad. A mall shopping spree montage scene, machine guns, valley girls, and no adults...what could have been better? I also loved horror movies....so zombies were also A+ in my book. And this one has punk rock new wave zombies no less. Plus Regina had the BEST feathered hair ever. Sigh...

This movie is a must-see for the Buffy fan. There is so much Whedony goodness to be had in this flick: snarky,ass-kicking,mall-loving grrrls...zombies...and did I mention the mall montage scene? Don't forget the sweet 80's synth score and a soundtrack which contains a disturbing amount of Michael McDonald-esque vocal performances.

In the meantime....check out Geektress!

Ladies after my own heart....I think we may be bff's from another lifetime. The blog is great as well...and they are actually putting up podcasts unlike my lame-ass self. Listen and enjoy....

Not dead yet....

Wow...its been a crappy winter yall. Podcasting has been the least of my worries...crazy hellmouth of hate has opened up beneath me in the winter tundra-land of Chicago. Its almost back to normal now...I have one more big gig to finish up then I can get you the buffy/angel podcast that you deserve...so bear with me for a little bit longer.

Oh and send me a pony.

Buffy Plush Stake Crocheted by Me!

Well I got my box of knitting goodies from Knitpicks and tried making a plush Buffy stake for safe stabbing fun. I used the Palette yarn in Inca Gold. I sort of free form riffed the design starting at the pointing end and slowly increasing on the way up. In a few spots I would increase then decrease again to give it a bump would like appearrance a la Mister Pointy. Hope you like it. I plan to make a fabric version and maybe sell some since the originally planned soft plush stake never was made. I just need to find a fabric with a wood texture print. Or maybe print up my own.

Some Answer from Diamond Select Toys...

Head over to the BTVSFigs Forum to read the new "Ask DST" thread to get some answers to your figures and collectibles questions. Here is the gist: Willow deluxe exclusives don't seem to be going anywhere, no more Buffy busts, no more Buffy ornaments, the Faith exclusives are unlikely, no chance for T1 figures...so basically no more Buffy Figures period. Boo I say. Boo. I guess we will know more after Toyfair 2008.
