APRIL 18, MILWAUKIE, OR – Dark Horse Comics announces a brand-new Spike miniseries slated for release this summer!  

Written by Victor Gischler (X-Men, Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth) and drawn by Paul Lee (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Devil’s Footprints), Spike promises to be the series all Joss Whedon fans will be talking about.

Spike ventures off world in his bug ship in order to get away from some personal frustration on terra firma, and winds up sucked into a demonic plot to take advantage of the absence of magic on earth.  

“What I love about working with Dark Horse on Buffy-related material is that they take great care to capture the feel of the characters and stories from the television show, of which I was a huge fan. Getting my hands on the characters I’ve loved so much over the years is a dream come true,” said Gischler. 

Spike #1 will be on sale August 22, 2012!

et the second special Buffy Season 8 Sketchbook by Georges Jeanty, interior artist and variant cover artist for the great Buffy Season 8 comics from Dark Horse and Joss Whedon.

This, the second Buffy sketchbook from Jeanty, collects thumbnails, preliminary sketches, never-before-seen sketches and other miscellaneous drawings from the “No Future for You” story arc, issues #6-9 of the Eisner Award winner for best new series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8 comic.

Jeanty will personally autograph each copy and provide an original sketch on each cover. Shipping is $6.00 per copy via U.S. mail. Spike After the Fall Drops this week!

Let me know what you think of the new Spike comic...I am way behind on my comic reading at the moment...I am way behind on EVERYTHING at the moment. Ugh. My apartment got hit my lightning so I have lost all internet and tv access. I am hoping to get the podcast up while at san diego...we shall see...and then maybe catch up on some comic reading as well.

Exciting Buffy News! And Whedony updates!!

So it looks like we are getting Buffy comics until 2009! Weee. I also just read about a Fray/Buffy arc coming up in issue #16 which is very exciting. The amazing Karl Moline will be back to do that artwork as well! Then Jeph Loeb (Smallville and Heroes)will be doing a Buffy Animated issue.

There will be a Buffy Tarot Deck!!!! AHHHHHH! I am so excited for this!
